Planning for Palmview commenced in 2004 by Caloundra City Council and the site was first included in the Urban Footprint by State Government in 2005.

The Queensland State Government declared Palmview as a ‘Master Plan Area’ on 18 December 2009 under the State’s new Sustainable Planning legislation.

Palmview is currently in the planning stages. The Sunshine Coast Regional Council and State Government are currently underway with structure planning for the new community.
